Perfect Peaks Brews é uma cerveja artesanal local fabricada por Sean Wootton, um aventureiro local de Cascais. Impulsionado pela visão de uma vida Perfect Peaks, ele desistiu de sua carreira corporativa na Suíça para se mudar para Portugal. Na realidade, ele se mudou para criar sua filha inspiradora e corajosa à beira-mar. Ela é o seu maior e mais duradouro “Perfect Peaks Moment”.
Fortemente influenciada pela cultura cervejeira do Reino Unido, EUA e Austrália - a Perfect Peaks Brews foi fundada. Inspirado na real ale e no movimento da cerveja artesanal, o objetivo era criar uma bebida icônica com a complexidade da cerveja artesanal, mais suave e fácil de beber. Neste caso, uma cerveja feita para matar a sede depois de atividades de aventura e resistência ao ar livre. Ao fazer isso, criamos cervejas que servem como uma introdução ou “cerveja de entrada” para a história e o mundo incrivelmente ricos da cerveja artesanal.
Agora a Perfect Peaks Brews é fabricada na Azoia (Cabo de Roca), o ponto mais ocidental da Europa, na fronteira Cascais-Sintra, utilizando ingredientes naturais e técnicas artesanais de fabricação.
Then we looked at what beer was doing.
We loved beer. We still make it. But the more seriously we trained — trail running, surfing, cycling on the Sintra roads — the more honestly we had to look at what alcohol was doing to the recovery we were working so hard to build.
The endorphin glow after a hard session is a real physiological state. Cortisol dropping, parasympathetic nervous system taking over, the body shifting from effort to calm. It is the most valuable feeling of the training day. And alcohol — even one beer — actively undermines it. It disrupts sleep architecture, elevates cortisol the following morning, and interferes with the very nervous system shift the body is trying to make.
We didn't want to stop celebrating the effort. We wanted to celebrate it properly.
So we looked at what we had. A decade of hop knowledge. An understanding of how to extract the aroma fraction without the bittering compounds. A community of trail runners, surfers, and cyclists in Cascais who were asking the same question we were asking.
What can I drink after this that's alcohol-free, sugar-free — and still feels like a reward?
The answer was already in our hands.
